Lab Supervisor
Alyssa Rice Background: B.S., Psychology, University of Houston Research Interests: Alyssa is the Lab Supervisor for the Social Influences and Health Behaviors Lab. As supervisor, she assists in recruitment and data management for several projects related to drinking, gambling, and other addictive behaviors. Alyssa graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Psychology. Her research interests include community-level parenting interventions, trauma-informed care, and the influence of adverse childhood events on health outcomes. |
Research Coordinator
Frida de Luna Background: B.S., Psychology, University of Houston Research Interests: Frida de Luna is a Research Coordinator for the Social Influences and Health Behaviors lab. She assists with recruitment and project management for Project RAVEN. Frida is currently a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Master's Program at the University of Houston – Clear Lake. Her main research focus is on the promotion of sexual health behaviors in young adults within the Hispanic/ Latin community. She examines the variables associated with fostering the development of healthy behaviors using developmental theories, especially the mechanisms by which people engage or do not engage in health behaviors. |

Pelin Cunningham-Erdogdu, B.A.
Background: B.A., International Relations, University of Texas at Arlington B.A.,Psychology, University of Houston Research Interests: Pelin was the Lab and Research Coordinator for the Social Influences and Health Behaviors Lab from Fall 2018 through Summer 2020. She holds an International Relations B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Houston. Pelin's research interests include the effect of diversifying and adverse experiences on goal pursuit, political psychology, and power. She will begin the social psychology doctoral program at the University of Texas at Austin starting Fall 2020. |
Taylor Simons, M.Ed.
Background: B.S., Psychology, Texas Christian University M.Ed., Educational Psychology, University of Texas at Austin Research Interests: Taylor is a former Research Coordinator for the Social Influences and Health Behaviors Lab. Taylor holds a B.S. in Psychology from Texas Christian University and an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Her interests include subjective evaluations and perceptions of alcohol-related consequences, influences of shame and guilt on alcohol use, motivational interviewing, and expressive writing interventions. Maigen Pham, B.A., M.S., L.P.C.
Educational Background: B.A. Psychology, the University of Houston, 2007-2011 M.S. Counseling, the University of Houston-Clear Lake, 2013-2016 Professional Information: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at Amy Wine Counseling Center in Cypress, TX Member of the Houston Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (HAMFT) Interests: Maigen Pham was the Lab Coordinator for the Social Influences and Health Behaviors lab for several years. Since receiving her M.S. Counseling degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2016, Maigen has provided counseling services in a variety of settings, including elementary & middle schools, a crisis hotline center, and private practices. She is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at Amy Wine Counseling Center in Cypress, TX. Maigen specializes in couples counseling and premarital counseling, and sees clients ranging from teenagers to adults. Additionally, she is a member of the Houston Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (HAMFT). |
